about Mike

Mike Novelli is the lead cinematographer, editor and artist for Rising Moon. Mike's love for filming started early in his life when he began shooting action sports. He pursued his passion for film at Northern Illinois University, where he earned his B.A. in Media Studies and Video Production. Mike has also produced two award-winning social issue documentaries, and various other projects over the years, including real estate, live music concerts, corporate events and web commercials. Mike fell into wedding cinematography while working for Chicago's premier wedding video company for two years, where he gained valuable experience and helped perfect his craft. His love for the outdoors drew him, along with his wife and beloved dog Spirit, to the Denver area. Shortly thereafter, Rising Moon Video Productions was born, allowing Mike to have creative freedom and work more closely with each couple, getting to know their tastes and personalities. In his spare time, he enjoys mountain biking, hiking, traveling and camping. Mike brings his artistic eye, extensive experience, and passion for creating a timeless and compelling visual masterpiece, to every project he produces.
